I wouldn't necessarily say "albino," since that term indicates that there is no pigmentation whatsoever. I think the term "leucistic" would be more accurate, meaning that while the skin has no pigmentation, other areas of the body retain their color (like white alligators, which have white skin but have normal eye color).

Interestingly enough, late last year scientists discovered that white skin is actually a genetic mutation; the result of a change in just one letter of our DNA code. From an article dated December 16, 2005 on washingtonpost.com:

"Scientists said yesterday that they have discovered a tiny genetic mutation that largely explains the first appearance of white skin in humans tens of thousands of years ago, a finding that helps solve one of biology's most enduring mysteries and illuminates one of humanity's greatest sources of strife.

The work suggests that the skin-whitening mutation occurred by chance in a single individual after the first human exodus from Africa, when all people were brown-skinned. That person's offspring apparently thrived as humans moved northward into what is now Europe, helping to give rise to the lightest of the world's races..."

No. There at least 3 main true races. Caucasian, *******, Mongoloid. Did you know that forensic anthropologists can study bones (especially skulls) & tell which of these someone belonged to. They can even tell if the bones belong to a mixed race person & what the mix is. Fascinating.
