I keep reading on yahoo answers today from theists that they don't understand how one could be alive and be an atheist since their life wouldn't have any purpose.

In the interest of building a database of questions that have answers, my question to the atheist who doesn't believe in God is what is your purpose in life? Agnostics should also answer since they don't believe in God.

So the intent here is that those who are theists and who wonder "how does an atheist live without a purpose in life" can read this question and its answers and find out.

...why do people think much more complex situations which involves the cooperation AND silence of tens, even hundreds of people, are conspiracies? Everything from JFK's assassination to the NBA Finals lasting 7 games in order to generate more televsion revenue to Bush masterminding 9/11 to Tinky Winky being a gay Teletubbie has been called a conspiracy by one group or another. Do you think conspiracy theorists are being realistic?

Imagine if there was no more crime. Not having to lock our homes or our cars everyday and night. No annoying car alarms. Imagine letting your children go outside and play without worrying about child molestors or kidnappers. Imagine not getting sick anymore, no cancer, no AIDS, no flu or cold, nothing! Imagine if we did not have any war, no more sending family members off with the possibility we may never see them again. Imagine if we were at peace even with the animals. How would you like to playfully wrestle a bengal tiger or swim with a killer whale? Imagine if we could live forever and never had to worry about dying. All the things we could not get done in our short lifetime, we would have forever to get to it. Imagine no borders, no separating of the human race, you could just go wherever you please, no passport required, enjoy the earth! Imagine no more people being homeless and no one going hungry anymore. Is it just me or does this sound appealing to anyone else?

and stop this trinity nonsense. If god came to earth would it take 400 years to figure out what he was saying. None of the Old Testament Prophets talk of a trinity!

This idea evolved from Roman and greek methology, after Paul attempted to spread the religion to the pagans. This is despite jesus saying he had only come for the lost sheep of israel, and telling his disciples to go only to the lost sheep of israel!!

When asked the most important commandment why did jesus not mention the trinity? Why did he pray is he is 'god from god, light from light, true god from true god' (catholic creed).

Why did he say only the father knows the hour, just like every other prophet? does the father know things he does not know? yet they are 1 god???!!
