I wonder if anyone has done it, could anyone actually tell the parents that they're not allowed to name their child that? I'd rather have the name of God over some of the names the celebrities are naming their children these days. Like Gwyneth Paltrow named her kid Apple...wtf?

Mad, no. But I'ld pity the poor child, with all the comments it will get for the rest of its life, and all the jobs it will never ever get. Be fair, would you hire somebody who'ld answer the phone with "God speaking"?
And I'll not even start about the Jesus freaks, no doubt they'll do thast themselves on this thread...

I'd be concerned about the child's complex growing up. Why would parents do such a thing to their child?
Many names have "God" in them. The word "El" means "God" in Hebrew. Also, derivations of "Yah"-meaning "Lord" are also common. Nathaniel (God has given me), Jonathan (The Lord has given), Matthew (Gift of the Lord), Gabriel (Might of God), Michael (Who is like God(?)), Joshua (The Lord is salvation).

No. Would I do it No.God's name is not actually God. No one knows his name. It is to powerful to speak. There are many different names that people have called him throughout the years but they are just representations of the "God" that we worship.

Mad no, but I do think it would be inappropriate. It is disrespectful to God, rude to the child and setting him up for taunts and jests.

No, I would just think that's a pretty stupid name to give a child because you are just opening your child up to ridicule and endless streams of jokes because of their name.
