I mean if God has to live in Church and not allowed in Bank or society or politics then what are we doing here on this planet called Earth. My vote is for Islam because this beautiful religion presents a nice politico socio economics system which is threat to all secular states. They are fighting against Islam's sytem by using all means to protect their man made system.

All this arguing over who has the "right religion"! don't you think that god in His infinite wisdom would rather have no religion and only a personal relationship with him? Instead of everyone tearing everyone else apart verbally and literally? I don't think this is what he wanted for us...

Just curious because over 70 scientific societies, institutions and other professional groups have issued statements supporting evolution education and opposing intelligent design.

The question says it all...I am not gay but I always wondered what causes it, is it inherent durnig birth? Does your enviroment make it this way? Is it by genetics or caused by a strong negative impact of the other sex? Your thoughts?

Shouldn't a perfect God have created a perfect document? And thus a perfect Religion?

Even among one religion, Christianity, we have many many disagreements. The baptists, southern baptists, protestants, catholics, church of God, presbyterian. et.al.

Why so much confusion and argueing over something so obvious?

I say it's because of all the evidence against the existence of a god.

Others would say that God made it that way to test our "faith".

Ok, fine, God is a prankster. sure.....

The elements of existence are asymmetric and interact because of their imperfections. If they were perfect they would be static. Nonexistence is boundless, timeless, omnipresent, simple, etc. Existence is defined by its limitations. Furthermore, for any number of things that exist, one can imagine twice as many that do not exist, or the set of all sets of them

Shouldn't it be "different from"? After all, the correct usage with the verb (rather than the adjective) is "differs from", not "differs than". So by extension, shouldn't the following be the case?

CORRECT: English differs from Spanish in many respects.
INCORRECT: English differs than Spanish in many respects.

CORRECT: English is different from Spanish in many respects.
INCORRECT: English is different than Spanish in many respects.

I hear "different than" all the time. Why is this so commonplace? Aren't people just incorrectly applying the rules regarding comparisons (e.g. He is taller than John) to the adjective "different"? Has this error become so common that it is actually an acceptable grammatical structure now? Even journalists and writers are guilty of this particular error. So what's the official take on this in schools these days?
