I am from Calcutta(it's called Kolkata now) myself. Mother Teresa is a well respected and viewed as a saintly figure by most people over here. She did a lot for poor people in our community but she has her critics over here and abroad. Many people feel that the donations which she receieved were not well used. She received millions of dollars but her patients were and are treated poorly with words and very little medicine. Some Hindu groups have accused her of converting dying people to Christianiy without their knowledge. Mother Teresa was criticized for supporting dictators(who gave her a lot of money) and for speaking against abortions, birth control in a country where overpopulation is serious problem. According to her critics she was whisked away to California everytime she was sick while her "needy people" were lying in cheap hospitals run by the missionary. According to some she was a friend of poverty and not the poor because she said "suffering is a gift from God". I know, I've been writing about her critics only and not her achievement but people know a lot about his achievements already. Some Calcuttans don't like the fact that she has ruined the image of Calcutta outside India. Yes, Calcutta has poverty, all Indian cities do. Calcutta has beautiful places too. It's definitely not "ulcer on the face of this planet".

Mother Theresa is the only woman through whom people all around the world have come to know the real meaning of how to help others.

I think she sevrved Jesus Christ and not the pope and I think if she knew what people were doing by maing her a saint and worshipping her she would roll over in her "provebial grave" instead of giving Jesus Christ the service that she chose to give him.
