Because someone or something has to be blamed so that the guilt will be lessen on their part. It's easy to blame God, it's all His fault...is a quick escape. But don't worry God is innocent. He's not the one responsible for our choices but us alone.

Easy

Some people need real proof. It's like Why don't people believe in magic. It's in the Bible, but they have not seen it first hand so they don't believe in it. Most real magic users don't go around showing people, it's against thier beliefs.

It's also easy to see why people see religion as evil. Just look at this site and you will see a lot of hatred. They see it as another discriminating thing in this world. (Race, religion, sex, national creed, ect.) Hatred is a bad thing. Think about this if there was no religion there would be 1 less difference in the world; one less reason to hate.

God is completely irrelevant.

Right and wrong do not depend on the whims of any "supreme being."

Also, the writings of people who died thousands of years ago are not infallible. People were just as prone to lying, twisting the truth, and misunderstanding reality back then as they are today. The fact that their writings have been transcribed repeatedly and then translated from dead languages only introduces more mistakes into them.

Believing that ancient books contain the absolute, unquestionable truth is a grave mistake.

-because they are trying to understand Him when they should be believing.
-gives us hope, makes us feel as tho we have a purpose. i believe i'm gonn be successful in life and in that i set goals to achieve that success. all for a purpose.
-i don't quite understand what you're asking in the third question.
-they blame religion because they don't want to blame themselves. no one wants to be blamed for anything. it has more to do psychologically than anything. as little kids, if we did something wrong, we tried to blame someone else so we wouldn't get in trouble, so as adults, we blame something else as a freak of nature, its just in us. more people need to re-route their minds and take responsibility for all actions
-and even if they don't have a religion they blame religion because they don't have a religion.in other words, what ther are saying is that if we were like them (without religion) nothing "bad" would be happening

The Word of God warns us of false teachers who "secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them" (2 Peter 2:21, NIV) — and stresses the importance of "speaking the truth in love" (Ephesians 4:15).

Ananda said: "Friendship with what is lovely, association with what is lovely, intimacy with what is lovely--that is half of the holy life."

The Buddha responded: "Don't say that, Ananda. It's the whole not the half of the holy life. One so blessed with what is lovely will develop a right way of being, a thinking that no longer grasps at what is untrue, an aim that is concerned and ready, a contemplation that is unattached and free. Association with what is lovely is the whole of the holy life."

God is not dependant upon all the religions of the earth. God is the creator of all and loves all, even when they turn away.

I think "Thomas" had alot of descendents! lol

Like it's already been said: People don't "see", so they refuse to allow themselves to beleive. = No Faith.

They blame religion; because they need a "scapegoat"...Heaven forbid people actually take responsibility for their own behavior, actions, and attitude, and ignorance (for that matter...)

{but I'm bias.} lol

God Bless.
