I was born in Indonesia and I have lived in the US for 8 years now. I like it here and I don't have any intention of moving back, even though all of my family members are still there. I have been going through cultural adjustment and in a way, I am getting americanized. I found myself distant from people of my country and at the same time, I'm not really "American". However, I have more tendency to adapt myself to become an american, rather than learning deeper about my own roots because I think I need to adapt in the environment that I'm living in. Also, I have this complexion of making myself better, because it's hard to deny that America is the world's benchmark and I tend to view that life back home is inferior. I often ask myself, "If I don't even love myself for being who I actually am, can I actually be a good and complete person?" I am afraid that abandoning what has been a part of me will make me empty and vain. What do you think?

I've started a new job and the people i work with are really not my cup of tea. They are all seem to be a bunch of bitches slagging people behind their backs forming little gangs.
I'm becoming increasingly isolated by one worker who seems to be turning everyone against me, by crawling after everyone. 9 people in the team.
My theory is i never crawl or suck up to anyone ....im just not the type. What do i do?
The person who is turning everyone doesnt like me and i cant stand them. I've tried blanking him (not speaking to him) but this just seems to make it worse because he gets on so well with everyone else. example... sitting in a car waiting on a job with this guy. I say to myself im not going to start the conversation.......15mins later not a word said sitting in silence. Why should i always start the conversation...im sick of it. The guy is a nob. I cant get another job because their are none. I just dont know how to win. Seems to me im losing the battle.

Everytime my boss asks me the slightest thing I tear up. He thinks its funny, but I feel very unprofessional and not taken very seriously. Does anyone know a way to stop yourself from crying when you feel it coming on? I've got to stop this!

My doctor asked about my kid and I said he'll be three tomorrow and he asked if he's developed his own little personality, and I said, "yes," but I don't think crying and screaming is a personality, so maybe it's my fault? If I don't have a personality, could my kid still acquire one on his own? What can I do?

Well, I dream about my future hubby and life. Now, I know it can't hurt you if you don't do it too much, and it's just your imagination...and it can be fun, it's your chance to "make it happened". So, what do you day dream about? I also know that since it is fiction and all-nothing serious should be taken.

I read a book once from a respected psychologist with a Ph.D in psychology and [SHE] said that ALL girls before or after puberty but more notably WHILE going through puberty develop small 'emotional' crushes on their fathers. While most girls grow out of it quite quickly some hold onto this crush for a year or more afterwards. This author noted however that this crush wasn't very sexual in nature... it was an "innocent" crush that, however, had a romantic aspect. I bet 100% of the girls out there will deny it because it's so shocking to admit that, yes, they had a crush on their father. Has anyone heard of this and if so, is this author true in what she writes?

Last night, I had a strange, unusual dream. I was on a roller
coaster, a ver big one. And the ride was unlike anything I've
experienced before. The chairs were full of beautiful, and
sensual women. Some of them had their breast exposed, too.
I was sitting beside one of them. And she smiled, and I smiled.
The coaster took off fast, and smooth. It went very high, at times,
and very low. A lot of hills, and curves. I mean this thing was

People are complicated, right? They're not all good or all bad. They have good and bad qualities. I can think of an example in literature.

In Tolstoy's War and Peace, there is a golden-hearted, hapless main character named Pierre. Pierre is pressed into marrying a society woman, Helena Kuragin, against his better judgment.

Soon, she begins to cheat. The guy she cheats with seems to be a scoundrel. He is a wanton philanderer, disrupting families like it's a sport. Then, mocking Pierre after his conquest, which leads to a duel.

Anyway, it ends up this guy that seemed to be without merit actually had a very caring side. He doted on his mother and his sisters, providing for them, looking after them.

Maybe A. Jolie is a modern day example. There she is wrecking families and appearing to relish it. Then, she goes to Africa and adopts and does good stuff.

How do you net it out, personally, to decide if someone who intrigues you is horns or halos?

am 16 years old. Do I snitch out my classmates?
I made a big mistake at a party with some of my junior classmates. I feel very frustrated. I lost all dignity adn want to move. Me and two guys were playing an adult board game with 5 girls from our cheerleading team at one of the girls houses. In the end, I had to get nude in front of the others. All 7 of them were sitting on the couch when I walked in naked. I had to stand that way for 5 minutes. Well, when I came out, they (even the guys) were mocking my half inch penis and then as time went on, I got an erection of 3.5 inches. The girls were laughing hysterically waving their pinkys at each other and to make matters worse the two other guys, pulled their trunks down and showed they were twice as big as me. I am getting ridiculed by everyone at school. Should I tell on them to my principal?
