The answer to this question is different for everyone since everyone uses different things to relieve stress. You need to figure out how to do that for yourself. Try things such as exercise, meditation, deep breathing, a hot shower/bath, etc. Only trial and error will determine what will work best for you. itis important though that you make a great deal of effort to relax since you are so tense and preoccupied with being stressed out right now its going to be hard to relax and you will give up too soon. You are going to have to force your self to keep doing what you are doing and relax...its going to be hard but the only way.

I concentrate my mind on breathing or take anything negative as a fact of life rather than a miserable problem. Always try to think positive when ever I am in a stress situation because it could lead to many more problems if I take things too seriously.
About concentration:
It is a skill that you have to master by doing things. For example, reading a book, doing math or even playing a simple computer/video game might help to develop concentration. Advanced levels would be meditation which can create a stable mind in a bad situation as fast as it can.

Meditation and concentration exercises is to focus Your full undivided attention on a specific aspect of functioning of Your mind; or the body in order to accomplish a certain goal or develop a certain skill. such as breathing exercises, visualization are all forms of concentration. In contrast, meditation is an exercise, aiming to prevent thoughts in a natural way, by deeply relaxing the physical body and then trying to keep the mind completely "blank" with no thoughts whatsoever. and be maintained for a few seconds or a few hours, depending on your skill. Purity of the mind achieved during meditation is essential to gain access to Higher Self. It seems that our Higher Self does not admit any impurities.
By consciously altering the breath by holding it or by breathing fast, you cause the peptides to diffuse rapidly throughout the cerebral spinal fluid. the body’s natural opiates, as well as other kinds of pain relieving substances. The peptide respiratory link is well established. The powerful healing effects of conscious connected breathing. There will be a conflict. In your muscles, in your blood, in your body tissues, there will be conflict. They are ready to express something and you are pushing them not to express. You are suppressing them. Then your body becomes crippled. This happens with every emotion and this goes on day after day for years. Then your body becomes crippled all over. All the nerves become crippled. They are not flowing, they are not liquid, they are not alive. They have become dead, they have become poisoned and they have all become entangled. They are not natural. So when you start meditating, all these poisons will be released.

Learn relaxation exercises. Go to the blog of Shan Eris on "tackling depression" at www.myspace.com Learn and practice meditation, which can be as simple as focusing on the breath entering and leaving your body, as you sit with your eyes closed for at least fifteen minutes repeating the word "easy", or the traditional mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum".

Snap, obviously something is bothering you. You need to figure out what the problem is first, then decide how your going to deal with it. I use to go on short trips. Use an open road, you may be to distracted to be driving in traffic.
