Personally, I see it as a good thing that domestic violence has fallen by half, but it has been falling for the last 20-years. The most significant change from the improved training of police officers, as a result of the Violence Against Women Act, that has driven down the rates, is the major increase in the arrest of women for domestic violence. Check arrest reports, and especially talk to any female police officer, and you will find that almost 40% of DV arrests are women, with the majority by female officers. That, in and of itself, is significant, in that female officers make up only 13% of police forces. I hope they keep up the good work and that the Associations for Female Police Officers & Women in Law Enforcement will push to mandate female officers be at least on of the responding officers on all domestic disturbance calls.

I heard about a famous woman from history who was known for having kinky sexual practices (they wrote a book about her) (1800's?) and can't remember who she is. Anyone know?

Isn't it amazing how strong women truly are emotionally? Women can easily sacrifice their physical desires for the ones they love and are okay with it as long as they have complete loyalty from their husbands. Men, on the other hand, usually have a difficult time rising above their shallow natures and will give in to lusting physical beauty regardless of the love they have for their wife. Why is that?

What is it about women that makes them emotionally stronger in this sense?

I'm looking for serious answers here. Nothing along the lines of "duh" or "of course".
I'm just wondering, because I haven't been able to find a woman who thinks that it's important for a man to live his life with integrity. Most women that I know think that it's great when a man is unfaithful, lazy, bullying, and dishonest in general. They view him as being a "bad boy" who has "edge" and is a "challenge".

On the other hand, a man who is confident, mentally and physically healthy, a community leader, intelligent, romantic, honest, and would be a devoted husband and father, is seen as "boring" and "too nice".

Why is this? Do these women have low self-esteem and think that they don't deserve better . . . or, do men of integrity have to start being losers in order for women to appreciate them?

I look forward to your intelligent and well-thought-out answers.

This happens even if you're not close to the person. I've also wondered if this occurs among women who interact online, solely. I have a couple online buddies that I've chatted with online for years, and it seems that this has happened with us.

Coincidence?

If one is truly a feminist don't they feel that a society that forbids men to hit women is making women seem weak and unable to defend themselves? What are your opinions?

I have been with my fiancee for a while. Recently, I have taken an interest in the panties that she wears (usually the really pretty, silky ones from victorias secret). I'm so curious to try them on as part of our bedroom activities. I'm totally straight and have no desire to be a woman or anything like that (nor do I want to go around wearing them all day long). Its just that the idea of trying on something of hers thats so intimate and forbidden really excites me. How do I approach her about it? If shes not sure about it or opposed to it, how do I get her to accept it? Please help because its something I really really want to do and share with her (hopefully without freaking her out). Thanks.

This guy will be tied up in the Ladies Room and has put himself in a position where he must pay back the money he stole one dollar at a time by providing entertainment/services as a bathroom servant. His punishment will include having a sign hung above him stating "I deserve to be punished and humiliated for stealing my wife's money and spending in on another woman AND GAMBLING IT AWAY AGAIN! Please help me stay out of prison by allowing me to earn the money back $1 at a time. I will do ANYTHING, no matter how humiliating, without question, as I have agreed to do in front of God and all of you." We envision the first 3 months as a punishment phase, where he will be placed in stocks, and earn his dollars repeating appropriate phrases (in a manner strictly dictated by the ladies present) as he is spanked. The rest of the year he will be providing services. What would you have him repeat, and what services would you have him provide?

I've been notcing recently that Asian women have really been popular with men of all backrounds. I no longer hear men talking about blonds, Latina's, or mixed girls any more, its all about Asian girls now. Why is that? Personally I think its because Asian women tend to be more feminine and have a great combination of beauty and personality. Asian women usually are in good shape where as the majority of women of other races are now obese. Asian women also work hard, age well, are respectful, very cute, appreciative, and carry themselves with class. American women these days are so masculine and nasty, they are basically men.

In a general sense

2006-12-29 09:50:03 · 28 answers · asked by The Most Beautiful Men 1

From my experience, I've seen that American women feel utterly free to make sexist comments that aren't well thought out, but scoff at men who make sexist comments that are well thought out. Most women & men just wink an eye at this tendency. I don't think it's OK at all, and I know it's extremely common.
I just got out of a relationship where the dynamic I've just described was very prevalent. I tried to institute a no sexism rule, but I was the only one who followed it.
Discussions about the respective strengths and weaknesses of each gender are bound to come up. After the no sexism rule failed, I tried only calling her out when she made comments that were not well thought out and/or were self-serving, but that didn't work either. How do I manage my lack of tolerance of this tendency?
