Probably isnt hard to break that record. How many times do you think people go off and do that. I'm sure technology has allowed her to complete the journey in a faster time.
Either way you'd probably have to be 40% mad , 40% brave and 10% what?!! to contemplate such a journey. The first mile or so would keep me happy, dont need to walk to the centre.

Brave - and obviously must have her own reasons for wanting/needing to do that.
I, personally, will not be spotted at the South Pole any time in the near future - too cold and awful for my tastes.
