How did the US become so successful economically as of today?
How come the US has such a powerful economy?

I pulled some indexed labor data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and posted it on my 360 blog thing here. Please take a look at my blog entries, and I am interested in having a dialogue about this. My position is that there is no reasonable justification for the wealth grab that the data reveals.

Some highlights:

+ Output per hour is up more than 260%.
+ Hours worked is up 90%. This is hard to believe, begs further investigation.
+ Output per hour multiplied by hours worked, the total output nut, is up 580%.
+ Hourly compensation is up 170% (on real basis)
+ Labor’s share of productive output has fallen 4%. From what initial % is unknown.
+ Non-Labor Share of productive output (re: Profits) is up 4,042%.

Say you are making 100,000 a year, and all of your neighbors and friends make 85,000 a year. Would you prefer that to all of your friends and neighbors making 200,000 a year if you could make 120,000 a year (assuming no change in purchasing power per unit of currency)? In the latter scenario, everyone you know makes more than you do, but everyone is able to buy more stuff. In the former scenario, you make more than everyone, but everyone can buy less stuff, including yourself.

So who's going to say that they're shallow enough to take less just so they can have more relative to everyone else? Dr Wheelan does: http://finance.yahoo.com/columnist/article/economist/19750

Would you like a smaller pie with less for even you as long as everyone else gets less than you?

My answer is that a bigger pie is better for everybody, because everyone gets more, and people should be content and not covet other people's wealth.

If this is a good question, gimme a thumbs up. Thank you.

The Game is based on the Rich Dad Poor Dad games by Robert Kyasaki. I am thinking about buying it as it teaches you about active and passibe incomes etc.

Also have been thinking about having Rich Dad mentoring. Has anyone had that and found that they benefited?

We have LOW unemployment, BOOMING stock market. Classic theory states this should boost wages as employers would need to pay a premium for workers, put signing bonuses in effect, and make their workplace more desirable. But layoffs are constant, many 'degreed' people are working menial jobs or now 2 jobs, and the avg corporate workplace is a stress zone. Any intelligent ideas on what is wrong with classic economic theory, or does the TRICKLE DOWN theory no longer work?

We all know that communism doesn't work, neither does capitalism. Communism takes away people's unalienable rights as human beings too much and capitalism has little restrictions on the distribution of wealth.

I value freedom in everything with the exception of the free market.

I would like to find someone who can help me get a grant to restore an old building and turn it into a youth group. The area is in a poverty zone and there is no where for the youth in the community to go. Not a bowling alley, a theater, zero, nothing. This town has plenty of children and just one grocery store, one gas station, a hardware store, and pharmacy. And that's it. There is an old abandoned building (what use to be a bar) which we could have. But it needs to be updated with electric, a roof, furnace etc. The building has great potential and could be restored into a youth group. But since we don't have the money to do this where do I go, who do I talk to, who can I contact, how do I write it up. I've never done this before so I don't know where to start so I could use all the help I can get. Please help!

Since the beginning of time,Africa has been generally recognized as the richest continent on earth. It was blessed by both God and nature with a richness of soil, natural resources and human spirit. Biblical and secular records proclaim Africa as the birthplace of all mankind. With so much richness and heritage, one must wonder why Africa remained the most poorly develope country on earth and why generations of blacks around the world are so totally impoverish and powerless. The economic exploitation of Africa and blacks began in the minds of Europeans collective greed and profit above the value of human life. Their collective greed and machinations have left blacks a legacy of suffering and a black holocaust that has yet to end.

Our household income is above national median; house value is double national median and we dont' have spending habits, not even mag subscriptions, nothing. How is it that statistically most people should be less wealthy than us but it seems like everyone I see buys things that even we couldn't, even the lawn mowing guy has a new 4x4 truck, snowmobiles, motorcyles, etc. Kids driving around in more expensive cars while going to college! Is it inheiritance? That would explain it because I have none of that.
