When some economics news comes out, there is always someone on TV who says its a disaster.

For example. When unemployment goes up, there is always saying its a disaster because the government has to pay more in benefits. When unemployment goes down, there is always someone on complaining that its a disaster for wage inflation.

Why is this?

Is there ever any economics news that is not a disaster to someone?

I've built up an interest on topics I'm studying in my world history class such as Communism and Marxism as of lately, but still seem unsure on where I may stand. Or more on, referring to what I agree with and don't agree with.

wat is the difference between GDP at current prices (money GDP) and GDP at constant prices (real GDP)?? Does it make any difference which of the two is used to measure economic activity? why or why not??
