The continent has enough natural resources to take care of the whole world, for example The D.R.C is capable of generating enough hydro electricity to power the whole continent, but at this very moment the whole of southern Africa is facing a regional power deficit Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mozambique,Zambia and DRC are all having to do load shedding.
The continent has reserves of gold,platinum,diamond,natural gas,oil,water,coal,asbestos,uranium even skilled labour, but non of this is being used for the benefit of the continent. does anyone have answer to this.

It seems to me that hollywoods elite keep focusing on poverty in other countries, and ignore the fact that more and more people right here in the US are poverty stricken and need help!! Maybe I am wrong, but I think they need to start with the problems in this country, before giving all their monies to other countries. The unemployment rates are astronomical, people don't have health insurance; and all I keep hearing is "Help the children in Africa". What about the American children who's parents can't put food on the table and can't afford medicine for their kids?? Am I mistaken?? Please respond......

What is the point in globalising finance companies first thrusting the devoloping countries into it. when all the money of the developing countries are gone in the hands of insurance and credit card companies of the developing countries, what is it left for the third world countries. Agriculture is protected with subsidies in U.S and most developed countries. why not globalise them first instead of coke and pepsi? Why not have the free flow of labour as the first agenda in the globalisation rather having it as last. Would they be with drawing that agenda in the end when all they wanted to squander has been done?

I was talking with co-workers the other day and realized this about myself.
Example #1: I, along with one of my coworkers, will drive well out of our way to save a few pennies on gas. (Not at all uncommon to drive 15-20 miles to save a nickle per gallon.)
Example #2: I periodically suffer from severe lower back pain. Only Valium or Aleve help. Had the diazepam but not the naproxen sodium. Knew it was on sale at Giant all week but waited for the coupon inserts in the Sunday paper to see if there was one. There was, for $1.00 off. Rather than go straight to Giant, however, I checked Super Fresh (A&P in some regions) because they double coupons up to a dollar. Not on sale there. Finally went to Giant, got me some Aleve and got me some relief, after suffering for several days!
Example #3: Back in the '60s & '70s, before I started driving, I would take a bus all the way downtown to save .50 or less on a record album that I could have found closer to home. Bus fare exceed saving by 3X!
