Well let me see...

Politics, foregin policy and relationship, history: It depends on the country's political stand. If it's a communist country, it tends to choose a demand economy, in which gorvermental control is considerable. On the other hand, countries with tradition of democracy will prefer a more free type of economy. Or there's even a mixed economy (like the one of the US)

Geography, natural resources, Population, culture: It dictates if there is still traditional economy (Business flows from generation to generation)

That's what I think...
