you can not choose an economic system.

But you could classify them by:
(-) Allocation Mechanisms: all economies must answer the questions of "what", "how" and "for whom"
(-) Forms of Ownership: the key to understand an economy is to know who owns the means of production
(-) The Role of Planning: planning deals with coordination in an economy
(-) Types of Incentives: the most common incentive sheme is material, paying people according to their productivity.
