Agree. Only those that own property and/or slaves should be allowed to vote.

I can not say that I agree. I think that this is the model that the US democratic system is based own.

Please let me clarify. In the US you can sponsor a candidate, pay to create a lobby, even pay to publish political adds to the newspapers or play them on TV. This is not wrong at all. Everyone that wants to make his/hers ideas known he/she should pursuit this by all the means he can.

Unfortunately I find a really important flaw to this system. My argument is really simple. Imagine there is one person that is really gifted and has some excellent ideas and opinions. Imagine also that this person could make a true impact to the future of the country. Unfortunately this person does not have the money to run for an office or to sponsor one candidate. He also does not have the money to find access to TV and radio. His opinions and ideas will probably never be heard. Even if he finds a sponsor he would be a puppet to his sponsor.

To make my argument stronger I can propose a different system that the state is providing all the money to the political parties (so they will not need sponsors) and also make some kind of regulation to much air time each candidate or political party is entitled for free (in talk shows for example). I believe this system would work better.

I am really interested to hear other opinions and challenge my own thoughts.

I do agree - but property and fortune should be quite widely spread. So everyone able to build up something should have all rights and possibilities.

Absolutely!!! Put the people in power so they can make laws to benefit themselves even more... unfortunately... people without money cannot afford to run for office.
