Food manufacturies are required (in the US) to have extensive pest control regimes in place to avoid contamination. Ants are certainly a concern, but sugar refineries take precautions against pest infestations and should have pest control professionals onsite at least once a month.

Hi'This Mrs Gee-Gee.Think about it,sugar is sweet.Ants draws to sweetes and rain.So there for sweet factories are cover by some kind of company.That deal with "Ants".

The Sugar is at a hot, Dangerous almost toxic state before it is packaged its almost inedible at this point? Also th facility is very Hygenicly controlled. And they have inspectors come every month as well.

im not sure but I hope they dont! I know that a certain amount of flys and other insects are allowed to be in grains& cereals and still be certified because bugs are very difficult to control in substances like that...
