Why Native Americans came to be known as American Indians? Where did the term *Indian* or *India* came from to describe the original, indegenous inhabitants of North America, when the original country of India is half a world away.

I need a valid and credible source that states the origins and beginning of marriage before it was adopted as a religious word and practice. I don't want Wikipedia or Urban dictionary as sources because they aren't credible or proven sources.

That is just an assumption. Genesis 1:2 says "Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters" Genesis 1:3 says God said, "Let there be light" , and there was light...(the first day), but how many millions or billions of years (as we know years) did the earth sit in darkness before God brought about its first day by creating light to make the first day. Just because there is no light doesnt mean there is no earth. If Bible people and scientists got together they might find that they believe the same things happened in the creation of the earth. They just are not willing to listen to each other. How do I know? I have many PhD's including Biblical Studies.

Cultural anthropologists have defined socialization as the process by which we learn to get along with each other. What are the factors that you think would affect how traditional tribal peoples get along with each other. How would ours be in modern day America? Which do you think would have the most difficulty getting along with each other—the tribal culture, or those who live in a modern urban society like America?

Of course there is a jesus on it. It is extremley detailed. There's one thing different about this cross, there's a skull and cross bones at the feet of the Jesus.Does anyone know why? I've asked a nun,se had no idea,I've asked a Father,he didn't know. The only thing I know is it's very, very, old.(maybe over One Hundred Years. What's it mean? This is driving me crazy!

survive before they became hunter gathers. Where did they get the instinct to gather nuts and hunt for food, as they weren't taught. This surely must be the best evidence that we humans evolved from other animals such as primates who had the natural instinct to survive. What a fascinating subject.

What do you think or what do you know about hunter gatherers.

Are the Geico cavemen:

1.) Homo Habilus
2.) Neanderthal
3.) Cro-Magnon
4.) Pre-historic Homo Sapiens

My guess is Metrosexual Neaderthal. They walk upright and have
prominant foreheads.

Hello,
I have a question that I would love to get some insight on, that is what the heck can I do with my degree in anthropology/archaeology. I'm currently set to graduate with my degree in anthropology in a few short months and I'm having what would probably be defined best as an anxiety attack. I have no idea what I'm going to do when I graduate, I mean I know that I can go to graduate school, but I think I want some time to ponder that, and while I'm pondering it I would like to work off some of that $50,000+ money I have in debts from college. I hear that contract archaeology pays well but that would mean I would be moving quite frequently and with the serious relationship that I am in now that is not really applicable to me. I also hear that straying away from anthropology and working at insurace companies and getting a managment or research position pays well too, but I hav no idea about going about applying for those. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
