its very lonely and depressing.

the forest signifies calmness/serene environment/peace but the child hugging a tree stump tells me that he is alone in the forest and has no one to talk to. wherever he looks at there is no one for him.

If the child is in the forest then why is it hugging a tree stump,why not hug a tree like a tree hugging wimp.

Reminds me of a saint Prahlad Maharaja who did austerities in the forest and sat under a banyan tree. It means he knows their is a soul in the tree, otherwise why hug matter?
