There are a host of examples where scientific inquiry has or might produce socially inconvenient or disturbing results. Genetic predisposition to sexual orientation and differences in racial attributes are two sensitive examples. Is it better to have a “don’t ask” policy to preserve social harmony, or should we look to find the “truth” and let the chips fall where they may? What are the dangers and advantages?

Although the extremes of poverty and aristocracy are no longer expressed openly in society what impacts does social division through class still have on the community and on a larger scale of the world?

I am writing a paper on the portrayal of sexualized images of women in American culture and media for my Human Sexual Behaviour paper.

I think it is interesting that many American's express outrage at Janet Jackson's nipple or Britney Spears etc., but seemingly most female sports broadcast on television have women wearing revealing clothing with many gratuitous close-ups of breasts and butts. Anyway, it seems as though the prevailing theories are sports and television are male dominated and thats what they want to see, women just like to show off their bodies more nowadays, and wearing next to nothing is more comfortable.

Women and men are both encouraged to respond

BTW, the main sports I am talking about are volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, and aerobics, yoga, pilates etc. on TV.
