As in how can a person know that everything they experience is not just a figment of thier imagination. The mind is a powerful thing and I don't have any doubt that it's possible that a person could fall into a sort of dream that they couldn't tell wasn't real. If they were in that dream for so long how would they even remember what the real world was like. It's sort of like asking how would a person in the matrix know they were in the matrix unless someone told them and took them out of it. But with psychosis it's just you, which would make it all the more sad.

I had a dream that a snake was trying to attack me. It was huge, fat and orange. I closed a sliding glass door in the dream and it jumped on it trying to get to me. I'm kind of freaked out cause I know snakes sometimes represent evil. Anyone know what my dream could mean? I don't dream about snakes like ever by the way.

If, when the Fed cuts interest rates, the money supply increases, each dollar is able to buy a smaller fraction of the economy's production. Hence, more dollars are required to buy the same unit of stock. Also, investors who anticipated the cut would transfer their assets from cash to stock to preserve the asset value. Similarly, when the Fed raises rates, cash assets become more attractive than stock.

Is this essentially correct?

This was inspired by a question I answered, asking women how we react when a guy honks at us. On getting Best, and reading the other answers, it hit me: the real question is why guys do this.

What do you expect to happen when you honk at a woman?

What's your purpose?

If you aren't a guy who does this, have you ever asked guys who do this why they do it? If so, what did they say?

Enquiring minds want to know....

Meaning a highly attractive women would be of higher value than an unattractive women?

If women don't believe this, why do they often say a man is "not worthy" if he is of low status or a "loser" when he is seen dating a physically attractive woman? Maybe she is also a loser.

Or does being physically attractive as a woman make you automatically a winner?

I'm shocked to see how unaware most people are. Wife abuse is more then just some guy throwing a tempertantrum. Who here can say what it really means to have been abused. This is not a competition men, it really does happen. And women do die at the hands of someone they love.

Surely the economy is the sum of all the money changing hands in the country and the activity of all the companies.
I don't understand how the economy can be growing at a fw percentage points but the stock market in general grows at a faster rate than this.

so I had this dream about the moon. It was huge, red, and super detailed. I saw this moon right in front of me when I was standing outside of my balcony with my boyfriend. Does anyone know what this could mean?

I just got feedback that To see the moon in your your dream, represents something hidden, mystery and the feminine aspect of your self. In particular, a full moon signifies completion, whereas a new moon symbolizes new beginnings.

To dream that the moon in odd in any way, signifies infidelity of your lover and disappointments in business.

I had this gut feeling that he was cheating but havn't caught him or confirmed it.

Should i take this dream into consideration and really think that this could be confirmation?? Im paranoid over here. Someone give me feedback please....

I am in the UK just about to enter my third and final year of my BA degree. I've asked questions here before, but people (usually Americans) seem to think of it as a useless subject. I have noticed that people here people are less critical about it.

Its not as if its easy work for us at all. In fact, this year I have to write 5 papers. 4 of them will amount to 5,000 words each, and one of them will amount to 8,000 words. Altogether that is 28 thousand words. I also have exams to sit. That can't be easy!

So why do people mock the subject? Please don't say its all about common sense, because its not!

I speak english better than I speak my own language!! I'm ashamed and I dont know what to do! I have no idea how I got there.. I spent some time in the US as a kid.. actually about a year when I was in 3rd grade..

Last year I had a fever and I kept hallucinating in English and if they spoke my native language infront of me I didnt understand! When I'm drunk English is the only language I understand!

I primarilly listen and watch songs and movies in English. I speak mostly in English with my friends and I'm majoring in English Literature simply because it's the thing I know best! I've always been good at English and I never even learned it at school, never memorized the grammar rules like all the other kdis in my country.

I'm just wondering why or how come? Am I psychologically more in love with the English language and culture than my own?!

I would think it's like holding your breath. You can't kill yourself by holding your breath because you will wind up inhaling on instinct. Is it the same thing with drowning?

I saw this in an episode of Grey's Anatomy, where a person drowns on purpose even though she knows how to swim, and think it's fake. What do you think?
