I read the whole chapter and can't find this one answer, can someone point me in the right direction?

The question is:
Why might it be necessary to reduce consumer spending in order to attain faster economic growth? Would it be worth the sacrafice?

I don't really understand why a reduction in consumer spending would mean faster economic growth. I thought maybe it is because we are importing most of our goods, so if we spend less, less money goes overseas. But I don't think that is the right answer? Help please?

I keep on having dreams of my boyfriend cheating on me! They aren't in huge detail or really graphic, but it seems he is with someone right in front of me. Kissing them or cuddling/laying with them. Then when I confront him in the dream, he acts like "whats the big deal" or he just acts like hes not doing anything wrong and keeps on doing it right in front of me almost like im not even his girlfriend!! He has cheated in the past over a year ago, and for the most part I feel over it because our relationship grew better from it, but I just can't understand why my dreams are haunting me, if I have forgave and am willing to move on?? They happen at least twice a month and its really frustrating, hurtful and confusing!! Can someone that knows about dreams try and help me with this one??? How do I make it stop???

First of all I like asking dumb questions, second of all this has nothing to do with me.

She starts throwing things and cussing like a sailor because she forgot to turn her ringer on when her best guy friend called. They only talk on the phone they never met in person.(making the whole thing up). So what does this situation mean?

Let's start at the beginning. I was born into a Southern Baptist family and raised in that denomination. I never found anything but boredom and intolerance in the churches I attended, and by the time I was 11 I had stopped attending.

For a long stretch of years, spiritual matters were very far from my mind and I paid no attention to such things. More recently, I've begun exploring paganism - Wicca, shamanism, and other beliefs. At the same time, I've also been looking into the Bible quite a bit.

I've attended a number of religious services for a variety of different religions, both Christian and non-, and I've felt absolutely nothing. I've tried praying, and I've gotten no response. I've tried meditation only to sit there and feel like an idiot for it. I've tried magic spells, and they've not worked.

In short, I'm looking for help to... well, to get in -contact- with something, power or being, greater than myself. To have a real experience of a spiritual nature.

Any suggestions?

What drives a person to risk their own life to save the life of another? I respect and honor those who do, but would like to know if there is a certain motivation or personality trait that makes them tick. Obviously not all people posess the same characteristic - there are plenty of people out there who "look out for #1" instead. What's the personality difference?

I know that guys like different types of women, but I'd like to ask how you think of this guy. We met about 6 months ago, and he gives me the impression that he's ONLY into hot women and that intelligent women tend to scare him. He's not good-looking himself and really isn't that intelligent or confident about himself. To sum up in one word, he's not the type of guy that easily attracts woman. But then when he looks women, he pays all his attention to their pysical apperance. He's a middle-aged man, and yet seems to me that his mentality isn't as mature. I wonder why he's like this. Care to share with me your opinions on this? Thanks a lot for sharing.

Some think that a women's place is in the kitchen making sure that dinner is on the table at 7 sharp. Others (myself included) believe that this is a completly idiot thing....that a women belong on capital hill in the oval office (not being there to dust either for those of you who would say that). I was just wondering what percentage of people believe what. And please leave examples and reasons to support your answers. Thanks!

There are so many young men and boys without a father or with a corrupt father. By nature, boys often follow in the footsteps of their fathers, or the male figure they admire most. If boys could see more men in public practicing chivalry toward women, wouldn't it better provide for these boys an example they are not recieving at home? In affect, wouldn't it benefit women by raising a society in which men care for women, rather than abuse them?

There are hundreds of organizations trying to build self-esteem, leadership, and responsibility in young women, but few for young men. I strongly believe the best future for women INCLUDES strong men, not EXCLUDES them.

OK, so this is as generalist, almost weirdly racist thing I've ever thought. However, my wife and I were just talking about all the Steves we know - even on TV - and only one isn't a jerk. Your thoughts? Please see the humor in this question.

And not feel that way when I was living in Hawaii?? I also feel more at home in Phoenix. Does that mean that I am not an Island person or not really suited to the island life? I have lived in Hawaii for over 10 years though but I never have the feeling that I am back to earth. I have only been in Phoenix for 3 months and I feel that I have moved back to earth and feel very at home here and a lot more so than in Hawaii. Can anyone explain that and does that mean I am not an island person?

Also, why would I feel more at home and that I am back to earth in Phoenix, where I have only recently moved to and have only been living for 3 months than Hawaii where I have lived for over 10 years but I never have that kind of feeling ?

Also, is this a common feeling or not?
