If I had 10 litres of helium in a balloon how much will it carry. I know the weight of the balloon will effect the payload but you simply deduct the balloons weight from the heliums lift.

Theoretically, if a human accelerated gradually to the speed of light, and sustained that speed for a given period of time, would it be humanly possible to withstand the g-forces exerted?

Also, if you know, please give the approximate g-force rating lightspeed would exert in such a manner? Thanks

I have to do a demonstration on MagLev trains, and I was wondering how I could demonstrate this.

I was thinking of getting 2 donut magnets and slipping them thru a wooden dowel so the top magnet levitates over the bottom one.

Any other ideas?

I was doing my physics revision for a test tomorrow, and one of the questions was whether the forces acting upon a satellite in geostationary orbit were equal or not. The textbook says that they're not, as when a force causes something to change direction it requires constant acceleration. I think that they would be, as it is not a force causing it to change direction, but a combination of the gravitational orbit of the planet and the kinetc energy of the satellite that causes it to curve. My Dad also thinks that they would be balanced, too. Also, where would the satellite be getting acceleration from in the first place?

I carried out an experiment to find the friction of different materials.

I have an angled surface. I rolled a pingpong ball down the surface and recorded specifically how long it took to reach the bottom. The material that friction I wanted to measure was placed on top of that surface.

My aim of the experiment was: To measure the friction of different materials
So with this data, how would i produce my results. Be very specific, as I'm not the greatest scientific mind.

I need a vague sentense about why AC is used for radio recievers. I came up with this, but i'm not sure if it's accurate.

Radio’s are dependant on the oscillation of electrons in the antenna caused by a radio wave producing AC electricity with a frequency the same as that of the radio wave.

An intro physics question... should be pretty simple and I'd really appreciate any help!

The mast of a sailboat is supported at bow and stern by stainless steel wires, the forestay and backstay, anchored x = 10.0 m apart.

a) The L = 12.4-m long mast weighs 817 N and stands vertically on the deck of the boat. The mast is positioned 3.70 m behind where the forestay is attached. The tension in the forestay is 520 N. Calculate the tension in the backstay.

b) Calculate the force that the mast exerts on the deck.
