Secondary question: Has anyone ever invented a "gravitational shield"? I am not talking about anti-matter, nor anti-gravity, nor levitation. It is possible to build a "Faraday cage" to exclude all electromagnetic fields, but I want to know whether it is possible to build the equivalent for gravitational fields. All opinions are welcome.

An engineer wishes to design a curved exit ramp for a toll road in such a way that a car will not have to rely on friction to round the curve without skidding. He does so by banking the road in such a way that the necessary force causeinf the centripetal acceleration will be supplied by the component of the normal force toward the centere of the circular path. A) Show that for a given speed of v and a radius of r, the curve must be banked at the angle theta such that tan theta is v^2/ rg. B) Find the angle at which the curve should be banked if a typical car rounds it at a 50 m. radius and a speed of 13.4 m/s

At a rock concert, a sound meter registers 130dB when it is placed 2.80m directly in front of a loudspeaker. Recall that the surface area of a sphere is given by 4 pi r^2. The power is given as 985 Watts. Determine how far from the loudspeaker the meter must be in order that it would read only 90dB.

My professor started out the problem with this:

B (letter betta) = 10 log Intensity + 120.

Is the 120 supposed to be a 130? How would you solve this? Is my professor wrong using a 120. Maybe a typo from him?

Assume you have a building that is 150 meters high. If the density of air remains constant, what is the difference in atmospheric pressure between the ground floor and the ceiling of the building?

I'm not too sure how to go about doing this as my notes are limited and searching for an equation online has led me nowhere.
I was thinking Pair x g x h, but at the ground floor it would be 0 for the height.

Thanks!
