A spy satellite is in circular orbit around Earth. It makes one revolution in 6.03 hours. (Radius of the Earth=6.371 106 m)

(a) How high above Earth's surface is the satellite?

(b) What is the satellite's acceleration?

Without the correct asnwer to part A, i cannot get part b done.

The equation we were given is

r (height) = (G Me / w^2) ^1/3

i guess the question i have is, how to find w.
i took the gravitational constant of the earth, the mass of the earth, but the w (angular acceleration?) i cannot figure out.

thanks for the help.

A ball is thrown up at an initial speed of 25 m/s at the same time a ball is dropped from rest at height of 15 m. How long does it take for the balls to be at the same height?

Can you please answer the following question in terms of changes in energy and work?

A 500g block is shot up the incline with angle 25 degrees at an initial speed of 200 cm/s. How far up the incline will it go if the coefficient of friction between it and the incline is 0.15?

I think my book might have made a mistake..

the answer needs to be in hrs.

the solution i tried was.

G (Me)/ r^3 = w^2

then f = w/2(pi)

T= 1/f

this is how the instructor showed us and it isnt working.

Like my MS Paint skills? haha
The image shows a section of an alpine cable-car system. The maximum permissible mass of each car with occupants is 2800 kg. The cars, riding on a support cable, are pulled by a second cable attached to each pylon (support tower); assume the cables are straight. What is the difference in tension between adjacent sections of pull cable if the cars are at the maximum permissible mass and are being accelerated up the 35 degree incline at 0.81 m/s^2 ? Explain.

Ok, I know these two are probably easy questions but something is throwing me off so please help. I'm not here so people can do my homework but I tried these two questions for too long and I'm getting a headache, I'm just not getting the right answer. Please help me in anyway; any help is GREATLY appreciated:

1. A ball is dropped from a cliff that is 150 metres above the ground. Two seconds later another ball is thrown downwards. Determine the velocity of the second ball if they both hit the ground at the same time.

2. A ball is thrown upwards with a velocity of 24.5 metres/second from the edge of a cliff that is 200 metres above the ground. Determine how much time can pass before another ball is dropped from the cliff so that each ball hits the ground at the same.

For those who have never heard about it, it suggests that all things -including energy and matter- are made up of extremely small vibrating particles of energy. They say an atom compared to one of these strings would be like comparing the whole solar system to a tree on Earth.
