A simulation in this context is a computer program which has all the relavent equations coded into it to describe the behavior of a physical process. Of course, the process needs to be simple enough for the equations to be understood and solved in a reasonable period of time. What is "reasonable" to simulate changes as computers become more powerful (think The Matrix). The current and voltage time history of electrical circuits is just one example.

A simulation means nothing in electricity, However, in electrical engineering, we sometime simulate electrical processes to see how they are affected by certain parameters. The simulation is computer based and requres some programming knowledge.
