Not always. They will usually mix to some degree. But start with hydrochloric acid and a solution of sodium hydroxide and you'll end up with a container of salt water. If the lightest liquid is volatile, it will evaporate and you'll lose that layer.

Usually, yes, but sometimes the liquids are so viscous that they will stay in their initial state for a long time (weeks).
Put them in a centrifuge, though, and put a few hundred or thousand g-forces on them and they'll separate real fast.

havent you ever tested the solubility of oil and water. oil stays on top of the water because it is lighter (or denser?) than water or if you put oil on the bottom, it will stay on the bottom no matter how much you mix it...
