In mathematics its said that dividing some thing with 0 (zero) is not allowed. What is the logic behind it? On the face of it if I divide some thing with 0, the answer remains the same like 5/0 = 5. Why they dont allow such calculations?

I always hear these terms in reference to electronics, but I have never actually learned the difference between each of them. Perhaps someone can help clarify this?

I've been in ALOT of college science classes and always took advantage of the microscopes. I love the freedom of looking at anything under one: a plant, dirt, skin, dog spit. I really want one for my own. It doesn't have to be as expensive as the ones at school though. I've been looking at alot of options but see that they can run up a huge price.

I just need the basics. Maybe a monocular with not an extremely high magnification, I just want it for fun. I need slides, cover slips, and cleaners for the slides. And again, as cheap as I can get. I'm a student haha. I've looked at the prices and still don't know what to pick. What do you suggest? Where do you suggest I look?

Thanks for everything.

This year for my science fair my topic is radio waves. I need to think of an experiment I should do that includes the purpose, questions, hypothesis, materials, variables, procedure, and results. I was thinking for my experiment to try to jam a radio frequency but I read somewhere that it was illegal. So does anyone have any suggestions on what my experiment should be on the topic of radio waves?

Will an air conditioner pull cold air from your house after all of the warm air is already pulled out of it? I was told it is impossible for an air conditioner to pull anything but warm heat.

My ex-boyfriend, without my knowledge, put his burning cigarette under the water of his pool while he was hugging me and held it against my leg. All of a sudden I felt something stinging my leg and got out of the pool to find a raw red spot on my leg. I remember him saying a few minutes later that his cigarette got wet at the pool. Later I figured it out. Has anyone ever heard of putting a cigarette underwater and holding it long enough against the skin for the insides of the cigarette which are still burning to touch skin before the water puts it out?

I have many ideas. Some I have worked upto somewhere in the middle. Some I have got the results but lack the refinement necessary for publication in journals. Some are worked just beyond mere ideas but I know (/feel) what I am thinking is true. The resources needed for research on my ideas are very meagre. Yet my retirement is very close. What to do with my unfinished researches, I don't know. Can anyone help?

Barbara is very imaginative and is known to "spice" up stories a bit, making some parts untrue.

After her trip to Hawaii, she was going to tell her mom what happened, but she really didn't do many exciting things. Barbara, being the imaginative thinker she is, came up with a scenario.

"Mom, it was so exciting! I got to see one of the volcanoes erupt, it was amazing! The lava shot a few stories into the air, I've never seen anything like it! Oh, and I was watching a river of lava too! I was only seven feet away from it!".

After her mom heard this story, she knew that a part of it wasn't true. Which part wasn't true and why?
