I've always wanted to know, why do we have Daylight Savings Time? I mean time is just... time. RIght?

It is so that everyone has an extra hour of sunlight in the evening during the summer time.
I wish we would all be on the 'summer time' all year. Some states do, I just hate loosing the hour at this time of the year.

It was done to save energy as well as provide more daylight for activities in the early evening during the summer months.

It's one of the greatest things to ever happen. It would only be better if we moved it up 2 hours in the summer.

I have heard that it was originally started to give the farm workers and others more daylight since they had to be on the job so early. I look upon it as a nusiance since it is hard to adjust when they keep switching the time.

March 11 is early tis year so we can "save power"
nice of them to dump it on us.
it's was for the farmers to have more daylight too

It's an energy conserving measure. Longer daylight hours equal less energy used; ie, electricity.
