I noticed on the new this morning that a woman was being arrested for something called "Doctor Shopping". Unfortunately I had the spund down so I didn't hear the story. The little info I did get is that is has something to do with perscriptions. Can anyone tell me what it is and why is it illegal?

Does prescription medication really expire. I know there is a "use by" date on the bottle but can it have adverse reactions? I've heard that the medication just looses its potency over time. The reason I ask is I had pleurisy about a year and a half ago (an infmamation of the lining around the lungs) I have an anti-inflamatory that was prescribed for me and recently I am having the same symptoms. So are there any risks to taking the meds?? The "use by" date on the bottle was about 6 months ago.

For the last few days, the left side of my jaw has been extremely painful (in a sharp muscle-ache sort of way) whenever I open my mouth beyond a centimeter or two or move my jaw forward. I feel like if I open it quickly something bad is going to happen--pop, or snap, or something.

I'm a student in finals, so I can't visit a dentist. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Next year I will be heading off to undergrad college, right now I plan to major in psych (maybe double major with philosophy) and go to med school, so I was looking at the clubs that are offered as a way to stand out for med school. There are some that interest me, but I was curious how many extra-curricular clubs/organizations successful applicants to med school were in during their 4 years of undergrad studies?

What I mean by stationary muscle contractions are exercises that don't require you to ride a bike, jog, or walk... but just remain in one place and move up and down like seesaw effect on heels/toes. Another one is reaching down toward toes and as you come up slowly contract hamstrings and gluteus muscles.

I am just curious if these stationary muscle contractions help venous blood return to the heart, preventing distentions.

Someone I know eats all the time. I try telling her it's not good. But she is frequently munching (good thing it's usually not high calorie foods), but she can go on munching. She is slender, but she is always nibbling. Will this kind of eating precipitate Type II diabetes?
