alright, so i have this story problem. i hate these.

water freezes at 32 degrees fahrenheit (or 0 degrees celsius) and boils at 212 degrees fahrenheit (or 100 degrees celsius). write a linear equation that models the temperature in degrees fahrenheit (F) in terms of the temperature in celsius (C).

i can't find the relation between them :(
thanks!

-3x + y = 7

6x -2y = -14

--------------

-3x + y = 7

y = 7 + 3x

6x -2(7 + 3x) = -14

6x - 14 + -6x = -14

0 = 0
Or is that many solutions?

the answer can be

(v – 5)^2
or
(v^2 – 5)^2
or
(v + 5)(v – 5)
or

Factor. Then check by multiplying the factors. If the polynomial is not factorable, then choose "prime" as your answer.

I use to know this, but haven't done it in a long time and now forgot.

The problem:

If you could explain it too, that would be great.
