1 divided by 6 is the fraction 1/6
so you just do long division. put the 1 under the division bar and the 6 outside. after the 1 put .0000 and then carry the decimal above. 6 goes into 10 once so you put a one above the 1st 0 and put the #6 under the # 10. then u subtract and get 4 so u bring down a 0. 6 goes into 40 6 times so you write 6 up above and write 36 under the 40. subtract and you get 4 again. carry down the 0 again. this is how you keep continuously getting .16666666
that's how u show your work long hand w/out a calculator. hope i helped.
