In celebration of my reaching level 5 (for mostly math answers), i thought I'd post this fun word problem to challenge everyone:
Can you solve for each letter. Each letter has a different value (0 through 9). All of the same letter (IE all "R" letters) have the same numeric value.

. C R O S S <-- the dot is to try make the lines straight
+ R O A D S
-----------------
D A N G E R

Yahoo answers formatting is a little quirky, so working backwards the single units are S, S R, the "tens" units are S, D, E, the hundreds units are O, A, G, .. etc etc

Six equations are listed below.

A. 2x - 2y = 10 B. -2x - 6y = -8 C. 2x + 6y = 8
D. x + 3y = 4 E. x - y = 5 F. -x + y = 4

Using only these equations, write the pairs of equations that form systems with:
a) no solution
A. 2x - 2y = 10
E. x - y = 5

b) one solution
B. -2x - 6y = -8
F. -x + y = 4

c) infinitely many solutions
C. 2x + 6y = 8
D. x + 3y = 4

Did I do this correctly?

Explain how you think the function got its name. I've graphed this function, but I can't word it how I want to word it... =\

f(x) = ROUND(x) = {...
1, if 0.5 is *less than or equal to* x <1.5
2, if 1.5 is *less than or equal to* x < 2.5
3, if 2.5 is *less than or equal to* x < 3.5
...}

All help is, of course, appreciated!
Thank you!
