use teh ac test to determine if trinomial is factored.

The "ac"test is whether b²-4ac is a square or not.
Here b²-4ac = 4+60 = 64 = 8².
So your quadratic can be factored further:
x²+2x-15 = (x+5)(x-3).

I don't know what the ac test is, but I can tell you that
xÂ²+2x-15 = (x+5)(x-3)
