I need to find the last two digits of 37^1992. The hint is to divide by 100 and find the remainder.

I've looked at similar questions and answers here and elsewhere, but the numbers are much simpler and no one seems to explain how to solve the problem.

Please help.

This may sound stupid but my mind has gone blank on how i would input logs into this equation.

3^x+1 = 15

Note: ^ means the 3 is to the power of x+1

I can use logs with e easy enough but stuck on this.

Throughout explanation would be grateful

You sold tickets to the school play. Advanced tickets were $4. Tickets bought at the door were $5.50. Total ticket sales were $440. Let x represent the nuumber of advanced tickets sold and y represents the number of tickets sold at the door. Write an equation to represent the number of tickets sold.

Here is my equation : 4x+5.5y=440.

then it asked me to find three possible numbers of advanced tickets sold at the door.

How do i solve?

Can someone help me out with these review questions? Who gives a test the day before Thanksgiving?! Argh..haha..thanks!!

Show if these series Converge conditionally, converge absolutely or diverge.
(all summation from 1 to infinity)

1. ((-1)^k) / ((k(k+1))^(1/2))

2. ((-1)^(k)(k!)^(2)) / ((2k)!)

3. ((-1)^(k)k!) / (2^(k))

I know there are three options and three questions but it doesn't mean that one is assigned to each, for example they could all converge absolutely. I just have no clue how to prove this and my prof canceled office hours today because it's snowinggggg =O

I just dropped a sealed bottle of vodka and the bottle rolled down the hill and stopped 25 feet from a pine tree. Unfortunately for me there is a big and angry dog chained by 50 feet long chain to a hook secured in the trunk of the pine.

As I tried to approach the pine, the dog immediately tried to attack me (thank god he is on the chain). All I can do is to walk at safe distance from the dog, while he closely follows me, barks loudly, and shows huge fangs.

Hi,

i got this curve:
x= (t^4)/4
y=(t^3)/3
z=(t^2)/2

And I'd like to find its norm at the point (4,-8/3,2) for t = -2

I know I can get the tanget to the curv, and there would be plenty or norms , but is there any specific one at that point ?

the first three terms of an arithmetic seris are (12-p),2p,(4p-5) respectively where p is a constant.
The value of p we've found...its part a)

but how many values of the series have a value of less than 400?

a)2p-(12-p) = 4p-5-2p
3p-12 = 2p-5
p=7

Hi, as part or a set of algebra questions from school, I have been asked

"Find the values of m for which the difference between the roots of the equation 16x^2 = mx - 2501 is 5."

I know how to use the discriminant to find the values that are real roots etc., but I have no idea how to work out the values in which the roots have a difference of 5.

The answers start with

"Let y, z be the 2 roots.
If ax^2 +bx +c = 0 then
y + z = -b / a
yz = c / a "
I have no idea what that means?
ANy hints would be appreaciated
