But you may mean :-
2 / (5 x 8) = 2 / 40 = 1 / 20

If this question is 2 / (5/8), then the answer is obtained
as follows:
2 / (5/8)=2/1 / 5/8
=2/1 /5/8 X8/5 /8/5
=2/1X8/5
=16/5, or 3 1/5
To divide one fraction by another, invert the bottom
fraction and multiply.

If your talking about 2/(5/8)
Then simply multiply the denominator by the number on the top
2/(5/8) = 16/5
And obviously you can then work that out on a calculator or leave it as a fraction which is neater.

(1/2) times (5/8)
equals 18/8 or also known as 2 (2/16th) or 2 (1/4th) or 2.25

do you mean 5/8....five-eighths?
if so you can rewrite it as 2/1 divided by 5/8
and remember dividing is the same as multiplying by the reciprocal...
so 2/1 times 8/5=
16/5
16/5 is your answer
