whoever knows all about scale factors help me with this problem please suppose there is a dog named duke and duke had a picture and the scale factor fromDuke to the picture is 12.5%.

A. the size of duke from his nose to the tip of his tail is 51/2 iches
b. to build a dog house for Duke you need to know the height so you can make a doorway to accommodate him

So waht im basically asking is how tall is duke and hoe did you come up with that answer

Points top the one who gets it rigth first

To get from Duke's measurements, to the picture's measurements you multiply by the scale factor (12.5%).

I assume you mean that his length (tip of nose to tail) in the *picture* is 5½.

Duke's length * 0.125 = Picture's length
L * 0.125 = 5.5

Solve for L:
L = 5.5 / 0.125 = 44

So Duke's length is 44 inches.

You could do a similar conversion if you had his height in the picture.

(Note: 0.125 = 1/8. Dividing by 1/8 is the same as multiplying by 8, you could just take the picture measurement and multiply by 8. 5.5 x 8 = 44 inches.)

From the information you have given - it is impossible to tell. Even if A is Duke's real Length, there is no way to figure out how tall he is.

And if A is the scale length, there is STILL NO way to tell how tall he is. If Duke is a hot dog dog, I may be able to build a doghouse that is only 5 inches high. If Duke is a great Dane, I may need a house that is 3 feet tall. There is no way to figure out Duke's height from the information you have given.

The thing to realize is that dukes size is proportioned, which is to say the actual size of duke (a) multiplied by the scale (s) is going to equal his length in the picture (p)
a*s=p
a*12.5%=5.5inches
A*0.125=5.5inches
A=44inches=3ft 8in long
As for how tall the door needs to be, you never told me how tall he was in the picture, but the equation I showed should still apply.
