For the life of my I cannot solve this equation I know how, but the numbers are so hard to change them to get same coefficients that I always end with with x = 2.34523 and I am fairly sure that the variables equal whole numbers because this is a word problem about price per item.

equation:

1b + 100m + 16d = 435
3b + 18 m + 45d= 435
7b + 6 m + 46d= 435

Thanks for the help...

example- 18 2x3x3=2x3^2
i get how they got the answer but not how to find the rest.

is there a trick we aren't doing that is more simple?

For a simple quadratic equation, let's say in standard for is simply
ax^2+bx+c=0. Why cannot this be rearranged to solve for a, b , or c
when you have 2 values such as "a" and "b", "a" and "c", or "b"
and "c".

Why doesn't the equation hold true when you are trying to rearrange
to solve for missing variables?!

x= -b+- sqrt b^2-4ac / 2a that is for solving x
Why doesn't it hold true if you do the following for other
variables:

To solve for b: b= -ax^2+c / x
To solve for a: bx+c / x^2
to solve for c: c= -ax^2-bx

For this problem I tried completing the square and then used trig substitution, but it doesn’t seem right because it forced me to have the lower limit of integration be arctan(2/3), which does not have one of the known exact values.

1. x dx / [x^2 + 4x + 13] (from 0 to 1; definite integral)

(which reads as x in the numerator, dived by x squared plus 4x plus 13 in the denominator).

can someone tell me how to do problems like . . .

1.-3g + 9 = 15g - 9

2.4x + 27 = 3x + 34

3.10y = 2y - 6y + 7

4. 4 + 6x - 9x = 3x

5.13x + 8 + 8x = -9x - 22

6.5x - 3x + 4 = 3x + 8

these are so hard i have no clue what to do.
