I'm confused and can't find anything in my notes to help me:

In Exercise 19 assume that angle A is supplementary to angle B and complementary to angle C. Determine the measure of angle A, measure of angle B, and measure of angle C.

19. m

Thanks!

And the "<" sign is supposed to be the angle symbol; and 'm' for measure.

So far I have this

x-y=10
2x+3y=5

y=10+x

2x+30=15
-30 -30

2x=-15/2= -7

x=-7

Is that right? How do I solve for y?

To find these, you need to find the limit as x->+/- inf,

My question is, how do you know if there will be a + and - answer, (e.g. a horizontal asymptote at y=+2 and -2)

Can someone show me an example of when there is only a positive answer, and one where there is a positive and negative answer?

The Collatz conjecture is this: Start with any positive integer. If it is even, divide it by 2. If it is odd, multiply it by 3 and add 1. Repeat this process over and over, and eventually you will reach 1. For example, if you start with 3, the sequence goes 3 10 5 16 8 4 2 1, completing the path in seven steps.

This conjecture has never been proven. However, it easily seen that, assuming positive integer n satisfies the conjecture, then 2n also satisfies the conjecture, since the path for 2n must start 2n, n and then follow the same path as n.

How about the following: assuming odd positive integer n satisfies the conjecture, can it be proven that 4n+1 also satisfies the conjecture? Also, is the path longer or shorter, and by how many steps?

When I enter [x/4] + x in the y= section, why doesn't it graph?
Instead I get an error message that says there's something wrong with the syntax, but that's how the teacher told us to enter it.
(I've tried just entering [x], but that doesn't come up either.)
Thanks in advance to you math geniuses...unless of course it's something obvious :)
