Suppose that i want to compute the probabilities of winning at poker.
I compute, for example, the probability of winning one pair and then for two pairs.
I can see that winning one pair is more probable. But this is not the real probability of winning since, even if is less probable, you have a better chance to win with two pairs.
Question is : how i compute the real probability?

My calculator is of the brand name Texas Instruments and its model is TI-30X-IIS. (The II are the Roman Numerals for 2.) When I try to use Tangest, Sine, and Cosine on my calculator, some of the answers come out as negative. This is impossible and I am convinced that my calculator is messed up. How can I put it back to normal? P.S. On the Zero button, it says Reset above that, but I don't know what I should click Zero with to reset it.

I will be taking AP Calculus in the upcoming school year. Will my old TI-34 II be capable of the job, or should I upgrade to a better calculator? What type? Also, if I did need to upgrade, would the new calculator be too much for AP Physics and Biotechnology?
Thanks a million for any help!

My students always ask me why proofs are needed in math. I am looking for a theorem that works for many cases and seems to be always true but actually has a counterexample proving it false. This will demonstrate why a formal proof is needed in mathematics.
