The only way a sphere would have an edge is if the sphere was cut in to two parts. Half a sphere will have one edge. A whole sphere will have none.

A sphere has an infinite number of edges, since an infinite number of tangent lines can be drawn to an infinite number of points on the sphere. Where the tangent line contacts the sphere is an edge (theoretical calc)

Oledriller nailed it.
Geometrically speaking a sphere has no edges.
Purely mathematically speaking a sphere has an infinitesimal number of edges. Every plane tangent to a spherical surface marks an edge.

I doesn't have any edges but it has one side covering the entire outer surface. If it were hollow it would have two sides. In and out, but still no edges.
