Where is the 1st place the sun rises, and 1st place that it sets? What is it if all the territories, etc. are included, or if it just includes the 50 states, and/or only the 48 continental states?

My aunt sent me out a letter that has confidential stuff in it, she sent it regular mail. She sent it last friday and today is thursday so it is almost a week later and I still have not recieved it & she had said they did not return it to her . I live in an apartment complex and she said she MAY have put the wrong apartment number on the enevelope so if thats the case would the USPS return the letter to my aunts address or would the USPS keep the letter at their facility awaiting pick-up? Also if she didnt put the wrong apartment number why the heck is it taking sooo long??? Is the USPS known for loosing letters??? and how do I go about tracking down this letter....??

If you look on a map of the U.S. it's obvious this area is actually the "mideast" or "heartland" yet most people call it the "midwest". Many people from the NE are puzzled by this nick-name also, especially when Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and etc are included, yet many news and weather reporters insist on calling it the midwest.
I heard that many years ago when the U.S. was young, St. Louis, MO was as far west as civilization went, therefor it was the "West". Later, when the west was moved farther west and eventually to the west coast the west was moved but, the midwest stayed in place. Don't know if this is true or not.
