My aunt sent me out a letter that has confidential stuff in it, she sent it regular mail. She sent it last friday and today is thursday so it is almost a week later and I still have not recieved it & she had said they did not return it to her . I live in an apartment complex and she said she MAY have put the wrong apartment number on the enevelope so if thats the case would the USPS return the letter to my aunts address or would the USPS keep the letter at their facility awaiting pick-up? Also if she didnt put the wrong apartment number why the heck is it taking sooo long??? Is the USPS known for loosing letters??? and how do I go about tracking down this letter....??

It's very common to receive others mail when you live in a apartment. Although USPS does take awhile, it's not too common for them to just lose a letter out of nowhere. When I receive others mail I put wrong address on the front and put iit back out for delivery. Some rude people don't care and could possibly throw it out instead of walking it to the mailbox.

You can't track regular mail letters, so good luck finding it, sorry! Regular mail delivery is known to be unreliable at best, so if your aunt put the wrong apt number on it, chances are it ended up in someone else's mailbox. If that person is honest enough to return it to the post office, they will return it to your aunt. If that person just throws it in the trash, you won't ever see the letter. If there is something important that you (or your aunt) need to send, you should pay the extra couple of bucks and at least have it sent "registered mail".

If it's regular mail, there's no way to track it. The person who recieved it might have possibly just taken it and thrown it out if they weren't considerate. If your aunt remembers the apartment number that she sent it to, you should call the person in that apartment and ask them if they recieved it.
