The sun rose at 7:09 AM on April 15th, 2006 in Cuba (the closest I could find was Havana). Hope this helps.

Here are two links you can use for determining sunrise at Varadero, Cuba.

One of the links uses Universal Time (or GMT), so you have to subtract 5 hours.

In other words, sunrise was at 7:05 AM EST.

I don't have a straight answer to that yet, but here's a hint: do you know someone who owns a GPS? One of the functions present in a GPS is to tell you the precise sunrise/sunset time. If you do, you can put it in "simulator" mode (or something to that extent) and set yourself to be in that particular place. Maybe you can set yourself to that particular date also and you'll be set. Just watch for differences in time zones and stuff. Hope that helps a bit.
