I'm a scientist and have lived in Antarctica AND I think I'm a regular person!

But if you mean anyone that isn't a scientist - yep, they/you can. Scientist aren't very good a things like changing light bulbs are making the generators go that power the light bulbs, cook for themselves, and many other jobs.

Well, if Eskimos live in the Arctic, perhaps if some were repatriated or transported to Antarctica they would surely survive because they have the basic skills. They would eat Penguins or Leopard seals rather than Polar Bears, though.

The only people who live there are attached to scientific missions. It is too expensive, otherwise, as all materials needed to live must be brought in from outside the continent.

Unless you are a penguin, of course. Then you can live there and not be a scientist. But the walk home from the sea is a *****.

I have actually heard that it is already a very expensive exclusive vacation spot, but by no means luxurious. Some people do cruise there from New Zealand and Argentina, but they are people in the Bill Gates and Oprah tax bracket.

Right now, only scientists and telemarketers (that's where they store them).

10 years from now, it'll be a vacation spot
