How many time a battery can be charged and discharged contineously?

Is there any formulae or table to caclulate the dicharge of a fully charged battery on its contineous usage?

Is it possible a battery charging contineouly when it is in use simultaneously? if so will it not affect the battery life? and what creteria we may need to monitor to maintain the battery life in good condition?

Is there any standard equipment readily available to monitor and cuttoff the battery when it fully charged and again to allow to charge the battery after a particular dicharge.

Is there any relation ship for charging and discharging of battery

I graduated with a degree in Art 6 years ago. Now I'm a dissatisfied Dental Lab Technician. I'm good at math and I like to play around with machines and wood and wires and anything I can get my hands on. I want to make alternative energy sources that people will actually use. That (to me) says R&D mechanical (not as into the chemical), but I don't know any engineers. What kind of engineering should I focus on? What kind of classes should I take at my local college to get into grad school? Are there good online schools so I can still live and work normally?

The diode, a very common two-terminal nonlinear device, can be modeled using the following current-voltage relationship:

I = 10^-9 * ((e^39V) - 1))

1) what is the effective resistance of the diode at V = 0.55 V?
2) at what current does the diode have a resistance of 1 Ohm?

answer 1 = 266 mΩ
answer 2 =514 mA

how????

Hi, I am an undergraduate computer science/software engineering major who has an interests in AI (especially anything concerning artificial general intelligence). I am particularly infatuated with research and theories concerning creating an AI with capabilities similar to those of a human (which I realize is a LONG ways off in the future). But I do like AI in general from what I have read.

I already do a lot of reading and researching on AI, but it is usually just me aimlessly floundering for things concerning the topic. I would like to know how to REALLY get started learning about AI as a discipline. What are the fundamentals? Foundational theories and anything else I need to get started (apart from what I will inevitably learn in my undergraduate studies, I want to learn about the things that I might be taught in grad school if I can or anything else of interest)?

Thanks for your time.

I know consumption increases with rpm, but in what proportions does it increase? Is it linear, e.g 2000 rpm is double the consumption of 1000. Or is it in the degree of 2 or something, like 4000rpm uses 4 times the petrol of 2000 beacuse it doubled. I know its a bit of a random question but there you go...

I've seen flashlights that are powered mechanically(A mechanically powered flashlight is one of several varieties of flashlights that do not use batteries, but rather depend on mechanical movement by the user to generate enough electrical current to power a miniature incandescent bulb or light-emitting diode.). is it possible to create this to make a fan instead of light?

According to wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyno_torch), a mechanically powered flashlight (or dyno torch) has a device called the flywheel that can store energy. From this, the user squeezes a handle to operate a small dynamo which supplies an electrical current to a miniature incandescent bulb for it to operate.

My questions are:
1. How much energy does it store in the flywheel?
2. How much energy do we produce every time we sqeeze the handle?
3. Is possible for this mechanism to generate enough energy (with a few modifications if necessary) to make a mechanically powered hand held fan (ex: http://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/5462/2h/amplestuff.safeshopper.com/images/w0fks5v.jpg)?

Much thanks!
