If an electrical wall heater is rated for 277 can you run it on 240 volts. Ive hooked one up that was rated for 208 to 240 and it works fine. but im not sure if going from 277 to 240 is a good thing to do because there is a neutral in 277 and no neutral in 208 or 240. But an electric heater is a simple resistive circut like a light bulb so will it work with two hot phases and no neutral .

I'm interested in pursuing an engineering career but don't have much knowledge of what it actually is like. Please tell me in general what kind of fields are available, their annual pay, and what I can expect on a typical day of work.

Thanks

I often see joggers get to the corner and press that small button that is supposed to change the red light to green. Does it really work, can this one little button change the timing on that light? And if so, doesn't it affect the other traffic lights that are supposed to be synched with that light?

I’m studying bachelor of engineering and I’m at the end of first year. So I have to choose my major from now, but I’m hesitant to choose one of those specializations:
Those links contain the core subject in my university:
1- ELECTRONICS MAJORING IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS http://foe.mmu.edu.my/main/undergrad/beng_tele.html
2- ELECTRONICS MAJORING IN MICROWAVE AND COMMUNICATIONS
http://foe.mmu.edu.my/main/undergrad/beng_micro.html
3- ELECTRONICS MAJORING IN OPTICAL ENGINEERING
http://foe.mmu.edu.my/main/undergrad/beng_optical.html
4- ELECTRONICS MAJORING IN NANOTECHNOLOGY
http://foe.mmu.edu.my/main/undergrad/beng_nanotech.html

Actually I like engineering .but I can’t distinguish between those majors because I don’t have enough knowledge about them. And I don’t know which one is better to my future and my job.
Which major you prefer? And why? If you are engineer what is your major and why did you choose this major? .

Why do not we design a box that could transfer electrical power from one box to another via somekind of tranferring mode. I think we have too many wires, cables and poles on the street.
