My Dad was a "Specialist, Ardtiferous Devices" in the Navy - someone who intially worked on the Navy's "surround sound" visual, 360 degree sight and sound gunner trainer in Lowell, MA during the 1940's. I cannot find out anything about this rate; he said his letters home had his rating as S.A.D. - can't be too many of these characters around anymore; my Dad is 83. Does anyone have any information on this project or rating in the Navy? Please email me if this sounds at all familiar to you. Thank you

I'm moving from NY to AZ and needed to know about this subject. I have worked in a high rise building in NYC for three years and I have my New York CFC license. Will a license or experience help me? I'm only 26, love the industry, and can't wait to get there to start work.

On a recent drive through Iowa, I saw a field of windmills, and only a few of the windmills were turning, although the wind was hitting them all at the same angle. So can you turn them off? Or flip a switch to keep them from turning? Why would they have that?
