In the movie, Anakin and Obi-Wan battle each other on the highly volcanic planet Musafar, a planet with lava flows that look like Niagara Falls. At points in the battle, they are standing within inches of the lava. Could a human being survive such an environment, considering the heat and other factors such as noxic gases, etc.?

I have this Earth/Space Science question:
"...and which type of rock would you like to be and why?"
It is a rather simple project, just pick a rock and say why you like it. But, I am weird, and I have to be different. I want to find one that is so weird and unique that people are like, "What the hell??" But thats only part of the thing, I need a good reason why I chose this rock, and that seems to be the hardest part. I went to Wikipedia's "List of rocks", which had about ten really awesome unique rocks, but no reason to say why I would want to be that rock. The rocks that I found interesting by name were: Coquina, Greywacke, Harzburgite, Ijolite, Lherzolite, Oolite, Rhomb porphyry, Trondhjemite, Wackestone, and Wehrlite. All are great candidates for the most unique and cool rock, but have little reason to be chosen because they have little to no importance, or general coolness that I can find. Can you find a good reason to choose any of these rocks, or any other rock worth choosing?

Are we going to be extinct and wiped out like the dinosaurs once did? With so many natural disasters happening all over the world...is this god's way of punishing us for all the sins. And is it true that in the year 2035 that a meotorite is going to strike earth? The thought of it leaves me miserable and weak. Can we save earth with all these disasters happening? Is it mans fault...well i think it is.

When I first heard this theory a couple of years ago, I treated it like email detritus or forwarded garbage; I stashed it to the back of my mind where it seldom bothered me. Alas, it has surfaced quite frequently in the past months: I've seen more than a few articles dealing with the subject in prominent magazines such as Time. It doesn't keep me up at night, but it does tickle and itch a bit. And, yes, I'm a little worried.

Can someone care to clear it up for me?
Offer a rebuttal to the scientific theories?
Much appreciated!

Despite what we are told by politicians and the media - and that is where most of the stuff is coming from - how many scientists have you heard? - the link is far from proven and MANY eminent scientists are 100% certain that there is no link.

Are we being threatened with Armageddon as a means to keep us compliant with and to stop us questioning wisdom Government? Why does the media give little publicity to those equally eminent scientists who question the religious fervour that goes with the "Inconvenient Truth"?

There seems to be a total manipulation of the news on this extremely important issue which, IF they are right, is the single most important issue facing the Earth. Yet, if they are wrong, vast amounts of money is being wasted and huge amounts of tax is being raised on the back of it.

Al Gore's house has between 8 to 10 times the size of the average American's carbon footprint? If it was really true – if he REALLY cared - would he live like that?

Since everything develops from simpler forms to more complex forms, a supreme being must be our future, not our origin.

His idea is that God must be the entity that will be formed when enough people are connected by the Internet.

I found a rock with a perfect hole through it while walking along the site of D-Day (Normandy Beach, France) when I traveled there in 2005. I was wondering if this could have been caused by a bullet going through it or not.

I saw the moon in Jamul, California get so big once there was very little sky showing. It also went through many color changes. Silver. Silver in the center with gold edges. Then a hazy overall yellow. Then pure 24k gold. Then a purple tinged with green. Back to Gold. Back to silver. Is this a common phenomenon?
