When I first heard this theory a couple of years ago, I treated it like email detritus or forwarded garbage; I stashed it to the back of my mind where it seldom bothered me. Alas, it has surfaced quite frequently in the past months: I've seen more than a few articles dealing with the subject in prominent magazines such as Time. It doesn't keep me up at night, but it does tickle and itch a bit. And, yes, I'm a little worried.

Can someone care to clear it up for me?
Offer a rebuttal to the scientific theories?
Much appreciated!
